How to manage categories in the POSable Backoffice

Categories

In the POSable Backoffice click on the menu link CATEGORIES to view all your current categories. Edit, Archive, Download, Upload or to create a New Category.

A table of all your current enabled categories will be displayed showing their attributes, status and the amount of products you have per category.

Creating a New Category

Creating a category in POSable is very easy and can be done one category at a time or by uploading a CSV and creating them in bulk.

If you wish to bulk import then we advise that you download our template to ensure you have the correct structure. This is a CSV file which can be edited in numerous applications both offline and online. Search for CSV editor if you do not have one.

Once you are ready to import click on the import button, select your file and map any fields that have not been determined. Click upload and the system will upload the data into your backoffice.

If you wish to create a single category simply click the Add Category button. Fill out the form and submit.

When your category has been created you can edit it at anytime using the edit button the category listing.

Deleting Categories

Categories are not deleted in POSable.

Why? if you made sales for products in a category and then deleted the products and category then the historical sales data will make no sense.
Therefore, POSable archives categories so that searchable and downloadable category, sales and product data remains complete and intact.

POSable does not restrict the amount of categories that you can have so archiving is not going to impact your usability of the POSable Backoffice.

There is also further advantages of archiving. You can create seasonal categories that you only wish to be visible in the POSable Front of House APP at certain times.
For example: Christmas or Easter can have enabled categories that you then archive again until the following year.
