Does POSable support different languages and currencies?

Yes. POSable is available in 25 languages. The dashboard, Android and Windows tills, customer loyalty app and Shop Floor staff app can all run in your chosen language. POSable also works with most world currencies, including pounds sterling (GBP), euros (EUR) and US dollars (USD). You set your currency once in the dashboard and it’s used on every till, receipt and report.

Why language and currency support matters

  • Faster staff training. Staff learn the till more quickly in their own language, which is especially helpful for multilingual teams.
  • Fewer mistakes at the till. Clear, familiar wording reduces errors and refunds.
  • Built for your country. POSable shows prices, receipts and reports in your local currency, whether you trade in the UK, Ireland, Europe or further afield.
  • A better customer experience. The loyalty app is available in the same 25 languages.

Where languages apply

  • Dashboard (back office): each user can choose their language when they log in, and POSable remembers it.
  • Android and Windows tills: the tills use your business’s default language, set in the dashboard.
  • Loyalty app: your customers’ loyalty app is available in all 25 languages.
  • Shop Floor app: the staff stock app is translated too.

Your own product names, categories and descriptions appear exactly as you type them, so you can name products in any language.

POSable POS supports multiple languages through the dashboard into the POS app.

How to change the language

  1. Log in to your POSable dashboard. You can also choose a language from the login screen.
  2. Go to API Settings → Regional.
  3. Choose your Default language. The tills download it on their next sync.
  4. Optionally, turn on Auto-detect language so the dashboard matches each user’s browser language.
  5. On the till, tap Sync Data to apply the change straight away.

Currency support

POSable works with one currency per business account, and recognises most world currencies, including:

  • Europe: GBP (£), EUR (€), CHF, SEK, NOK, DKK (kr), PLN (zł), CZK (Kč), HUF (Ft), RON (lei), TRY (₺)
  • Americas: USD ($), CAD (C$), BRL (R$), MXN
  • Asia-Pacific: AUD (A$), NZD (NZ$), JPY (¥), CNY (¥), HKD, SGD, INR (₹), KRW (₩), THB (฿)
  • Middle East and Africa: AED, SAR, ZAR (R), NGN (₦), KES

How to set your currency

  1. Go to API Settings → Currency and Taxes.
  2. Enter your currency, ideally as the three-letter code, for example GBP, EUR or USD.
  3. Save. Your tills pick up the change on their next sync.

Tip: if you enter just $, POSable uses the country in your business address to work out which dollar you mean (US, Canadian, Australian and so on). Entering the three-letter code avoids any confusion.

How currency appears

  • On the till and in the dashboard, prices show with your currency symbol, for example £4.50 or €4.50.
  • On printed receipts, the currency code is shown, for example “GBP”, because not every thermal receipt printer can print currency symbols reliably.
  • In reports and exports, amounts use your chosen currency.

Things to know

VAT and tax rates are set separately. See our guide to managing inventory and taxes.rrently available, you are encouraged to contact the POSable support team for assistance or customization options.

One currency at a time. POSable doesn’t accept payment in several currencies at once or convert between them. Businesses trading in more than one country should use a separate POSable account for each currency.

Card payments are processed in the currency of your card payment provider’s merchant account.
