Is there a contract with POSable Point of Sale?

No. There’s no minimum term, no lock-in and no long-term contract. You choose a monthly or yearly subscription, and you can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and then it simply stops. There are no cancellation fees, exit charges or notice periods.

Like any online service, POSable runs under our Terms of Service. They set out how billing, cancellation and your data work.

Why no lock-in matters

Many POS providers tie businesses into 2 to 4 year contracts, often bundled with “free” hardware and higher card fees. If the system doesn’t suit you, or your business changes, you’re stuck paying. With POSable:

  • You stay because it works for you, not because a contract says you have to
  • You can scale with the seasons. Change plan as your number of tills changes. Seasonal and market traders don’t pay for a big plan all year.
  • You can try before you commit with a 15-day free trial
  • Your software and card payments are separate. POSable doesn’t tie your subscription to a card processing contract.

The 15-day free trial

  • Card details are taken when you sign up, but you won’t be charged until the trial ends.
  • You’ll get a reminder email 3 days before the trial ends.
  • To avoid being charged, cancel before the trial ends from Billing in your dashboard.
  • If you don’t cancel, your chosen plan starts automatically when the trial ends.
  • There’s one free trial per business.

How to cancel your subscription

  1. Sign in to your POSable dashboard as the account owner.
  2. Open Billing & Subscription.
  3. In the Cancellation Policy section, click Cancel Subscription and confirm.
  4. You’ll see “Cancellation scheduled” with the date your subscription ends. No further payments will be taken after that date.

Important: Cancellation must be done from the Billing page. Requests by email, phone, chat or social media can’t be accepted and won’t stop billing. This protects your account from anyone cancelling it without permission.

What happens after you cancel

  1. Until your paid period ends: everything keeps working as normal. You can keep trading, run reports and export your data.
  2. When your paid period ends: your account is suspended. The tills and dashboard stop working, and the tills show an “account suspended” message.
  3. For up to 90 days after cancellation: your data may be kept securely in case you want to come back, then it’s deleted. If you want your data deleted straight away, ask for this when you cancel.
  4. Billing records are kept for the legally required period: 6 years in the UK, 10 years in the EU.

Export your data before your paid period ends. After that, you won’t be able to sign in to the dashboard. See Can I export data from POSable for my accountant? for how to download your sales and accounting reports.

Refunds

POSable is supplied to businesses only, and subscription payments are non-refundable once a paid period has started:

  • You won’t get a refund or credit for a partly used month.
  • A yearly plan runs for its full 12 months. Cancelling stops it renewing but doesn’t give a refund for the unused months.
  • In exceptional circumstances, we may give a goodwill refund at our discretion.

That’s why the 15-day free trial exists: to make sure POSable suits your business before you pay. See section 5 of our Terms of Service for the full refund policy.

Changing your plan

You can change plan or billing cycle at any time from Billing → Change Plan. For example, you can add devices for the busy season or move to an AI plan.

  • Plan changes take effect immediately.
  • You’re charged the difference for the rest of the current billing period. After that, your new plan’s full price applies.
  • If you downgrade your account is credited against the renewal at your next billing period. We do not provide or offer partial refunds.

If a payment fails

If your subscription payment fails, for example because a card has expired, your account may be suspended until payment is made. Your tills stop working while it’s suspended. To avoid this:

  • Keep your card details up to date using Update payment details on the Billing page
  • Check your email for payment notifications
  • We allow a 48 hour grace period just in case as we understand sometimes situations can occur.

What about my card payment provider?

Your POSable subscription and your card processing are separate agreements. POSable doesn’t tie you into a card processing contract. However, Dojo, Teya, myPOS and Gravity Payments each have their own terms, which may include contract lengths, terminal rental or cancellation notice. Check these with the provider before you sign up. See Are there any transaction fees?
