Getting Started with Your POSable Backoffice Setup
Once you have received your login credentials, navigate to the posable.co.uk website and click on the Login button.
Enter your registered email address and the provided password. Upon successful login, you will be greeted by POS, who will guide you through a comprehensive tutorial on how to utilize the POSable Backoffice effectively.
We recommend completing this tutorial immediately to familiarize yourself with the system. However, if you prefer to proceed at a later time, simply click SKIP. You can access the tutorial anytime later by selecting the HELP & TUTORIALS menu link within the system.

Congratulations on becoming your first backoffice user—welcome aboard!
Before creating a user account for the POSable front-of-house application, it is essential to configure your business settings. These settings ensure that all relevant details are correctly synchronized with the front-of-house app when you log in.
Business Settings, Tax, and Core Settings
Navigating to API Settings
Proceed to the API SETTINGS by selecting the corresponding menu link. Upon arrival, you will be presented with the settings page where various configurations can be managed.
Creating or Modifying Settings
For most users of POSable, there is typically no need to create new settings. However, the option remains available should specific requirements arise.
To modify an existing setting:
- Click the edit button adjacent to the desired setting.
- Keep the name field unchanged.
- Enter the relevant information into the value field.
- Change the status to enabled.
Recommended Business Information Settings
It is advisable to input values for the following settings to ensure that essential business details are correctly displayed on receipts:

These details are printed on receipts and serve as vital contact information for your establishment.
Customizing Receipt Messages
Scroll towards the bottom of the settings page and locate the store_slug setting. Assign a value that you wish to appear on receipts, such as:
- “Have a nice day.”
- “Thanks for your purchase.”
This message will be displayed at the end of each receipt, providing a personalized touch for your customers.
Currency and Timezone Settings

Enter the symbol representing your preferred currency, such as£,$, or€.

Refer to the resource here to select the appropriate timezone value. For example, if located in the United Kingdom, enter:Europe/London
Stock Management and Alert Settings

To receive email alerts when stock levels fall below a specified threshold, set this toenabled. - stock_admin
Enter your email address to receive notifications about stock levels and enable the setting. - stock_value
Specify the stock quantity threshold that triggers an alert, for example,10. Enable this setting to activate alerts when stock reaches or drops below this number. - stock_overselling
Enable this setting if you wish to allow sales beyond current stock levels; disable it if overselling is not permitted.
Payment Provider Configuration: myPOS and Stripe
To utilize Stripe as your payment provider, it is necessary to deactivate the default myPOS system. This can be achieved by disabling myPOS and enabling Stripe within the settings.
Configuring Stripe Payment Integration
- Create Stripe API Keys
Follow the official Stripe documentation to generate your secret (stripe_sk) and public (stripe_pk) keys. These credentials are essential for secure transaction processing. - Enter API Keys in Settings
Input the obtained keys into the respective fields:stripe_skfor the secret keystripe_pkfor the public key
- Activate Live Mode
Scroll further down the API settings page and locate thestripe_livemodeoption. Set this to enabled to ensure that transactions are processed in live mode rather than development mode, which is crucial for actual card payments.
Disabling myPOS
- To disable myPOS, locate its setting within the payment provider options and select disabled. This ensures that only Stripe transactions are processed.
Printer Type Configuration
The printer_type setting determines the type of receipt printer connected to POSable.
- The default value is set to USB.
- Change this setting only if you intend to use a Bluetooth printer, selecting the appropriate option accordingly.
Taxation Settings
To configure taxation, set the VAT rate and, further down the page, the reduced_vat options to the appropriate values for your country. For example, in the United Kingdom, this would be 20.00 for standard VAT 20% and 5.00 for reduced VAT 5%.
Enable both options if you plan to charge VAT on your sales.
