How to setup Stripe Wisepad 3 on POSable point of sale

Stripe Account Setup and API Integration for POSable

Establishing a Verified Stripe Account

Prior to acquiring a WisePad 3 device, it is required to create and verify a Stripe account. Verification ensures compliance with Stripe’s security protocols and facilitates seamless transaction processing.

Purchasing the WisePad 3 Device

While not mandatory, purchasing the device directly through the Stripe website is recommended. This approach guarantees that the device is supported by Stripe and includes a valid warranty. Devices obtained from third-party vendors may lack official support and warranty coverage, which could impact operational reliability.

Obtaining API Keys

To integrate Stripe with POSable, access your API keys via your Stripe account:

  1. Log into your Stripe dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Developers located at the bottom left menu.
  3. Select API Keys.

Ensure that you are operating in LIVE MODE to process real transactions.

Configuring API Keys in POSable

  • Publishable Key: Copy this key and enter it into the stripe_pk option within the POSable Admin Dashboard API Settings.
  • Secret Key: Copy this key and input it into the stripe_sk option within the same settings.

Additional Settings

While configuring, also enable the options for Stripe and Stripe_Live within the API settings to activate live payment processing capabilities.

First Connection with POSable

Establishing the initial connection between your Stripe account and the POSable system requires patience and careful attention to detail. It is advisable to allocate sufficient time for the transfer of software updates and configuration data from Stripe to the WisePad 3 device.

The WisePad 3 device operates via Bluetooth; however, it must be connected to a USB power source during setup. It is recommended to leave the device plugged in overnight, similar to charging a mobile phone, to ensure all updates are properly received.

Important: Do not attempt to pair the WisePad 3 reader directly with your tablet. The pairing process is managed exclusively by POSable, which also configures essential settings such as Stripe location information internally. This step is crucial for enabling seamless payment processing.

Stripe routinely performs background updates on card readers without providing notifications. These updates may take considerable time if multiple or lengthy updates are necessary. Once all updates and configurations are complete, a Stripe payment notification will appear within the POSable application interface.

It is important to note that the initial setup process may be significantly longer than subsequent transactions. After successful configuration, future payments will proceed more rapidly, reflecting the optimized system state.

Please ensure all steps are followed accurately to guarantee optimal integration and transaction security.
